it is about...
Things you should know before you consider buying one.
1. It is a long term investment. the standard kit lens that comes with the camera usually 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 spec, is hopelessly bad. Unless all you want is to take pictures that are better than normal compact digital cameras, that will never ever do the job for you. It is almost useless !

So what do you do when the standard lens can't fulfill your photography ideas any more? you buy new lens, flashlight and other accessories. And that is what I call, a long-term investment.
Bare in the mind the budget involved in owning a DSLR is not cheap
2. The bulky camera body. Even with the smallest, underwear-shaped case, you are still practically carrying something big with you every time you take it out. Most of the time, the most standard camera case is about half the size of your usual traveling bag. More or less-Which means extra luggage.
a DSLR is about 3 times or more the size of a compact camera depending what accessories you have

3. The Weight. With greater load of objects you are certainly going to carry more weight. That neck-strap that comes with the camera, that is just meant to prevent the camera from falling. To be a true photographer you must have additional lenses for different type of photography and sometimes even an external flash. All that will add to the weight of the camera.
Just about any body can lift it but don't complain when you think its too heavy because you asked for it
4. The passion for photography. You can go ahead a try to operate DSLR at stores and maybe, take some good looking photos but, again, if that is all you want, I'd suggest you to buy a really good compact camera or those so called 'semi-pro' ones. Its like buying a guitar for the purpose of getting chicks. When you don't get one, you throw it away. What's the point? You spend 3k to look pro and when everybody else have you, you get rid of it.
If you're not serious about photography, save your cash and buy something in between a DSLR and a compact. There are such thing

So,basically what I'm saying is this, if you don't have real, burning fire or passion for playing music, download O2Jam instead of buying a piano. You can still look cool and show off to your friends without having to spend thousands. The same goes to a camera.

it's shiveringly cold here during the winter and most of the year, so how does a trim young girl stay|presentable?
i only get to go outdoors so i use spray tan. it works like demonic magic and it covers up whiteness.
