The End To College Life In Penang

Exam is over. I don't know if I can manage to pass all of the 5 resits papers. Of the 5, 4 came at the last 2 days which really gave me a lot of stress. I was on the brink of giving up and stop the suffering but then I remember I wanted to continue my studies at KL, and so kept trying to the very last moment.

Whatever the outcome, I'm glad that I didn't give up. I gave my all. The only regret is that I didn't start from early. The exam agony is over, but the wait, for the day when I face the reality of having my dream come true or shattered, bothers me everyday. I am being haunted for my past mistakes...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went to hostel early in the morning to pack my stuff and being them back home. It is quite sad to be leaving my 2nd home after 2 years there. Sometimes it felt better than my actual home.

I'll be missing the life there. Missing my college friends who will part ways after graduation. It all started and came to an end in a flash.

I enjoyed the freedom I had there. Of the 2 years, I think the first is still the more memorable one for some reason...

Although I didn't make the best out of my college life in Penang, but
the kind of life I had at Tg Bungah will always be remember.

Last Push For Graduation

First of all I have to announce that there will be lack of blog updates for the following weeks due to exam. it is my last semester exam and this is the one that will determine my graduation.

So much to do with time running out. And,of course, so much at stake. I find myself at this position over and over again as a result of my bad last minute work habit.

I was overconfident sometimes but now I realize that having an advantage sometimes mean nothing if you don't work hard.

Now every minute, every hour counts. I must study at any given moment. Exam starts at 27th April and ends on the last day which is the 6th May.

4 subjects in two days from 5th to 6th is tough but there is still time.

Best of luck to those of are having exam !

I Don't Know How

Just got to know my exam results yesterday and...oh my god! its bad. The good news is that graduation is still within reach. The bad news is the number of subjects I have to study in 7 weeks.

I'm going to be down-to-earth honest here. I don't know how not to study last minute. I say the same thing every beginning of the semester that I'm going to change and will not do last minute work again. Time and time again, I did the same thing.

So this is my last chance. If I were to graduate this year, I must pass all my remaining subjects. And it is going to be tough.

Yes,I Can !

Tomorrow will be the beginning of MY semester exam and an end to the semester. For those who have spend the 14 weeks preparing for this moment, they will have little to be worried of.

But for most people, who don't have the motivation to prepare from early and rather spend time playing games, checking out chicks on the net, trying to get laid and enjoying college life...bla bla bla Last minute work is the way to go ! and you'll have plenty to be worried of.
In my case, I have 2 papers tomorrow. One tough main paper and a resit paper. With approximately 15 hours left to go, reading and memorizing the 170 page book, prepare for resit subject from A to Z and get a pass out of the two subject. YES, I can !

After tomorrow's paper I'll have about 40 hours left to prepare for another main paper. Some say it's madness but I think I can get at least a pass out of it.YES, I think I can !

After that, I'll have 3 days to prepare for a resit accounts paper which I haven't done any preparation at all. This will be tough but I'll seek help and try my best to...

pass. Yes, I believe I can !

To all fellow TARCians, best of luck to all of you. Let's make the most of your remaining time and do well in your exams. It may seem impossible but through hard work, we can all pass with flying colors. YES WE CAN !

Lastly, when I'm feeling the stress, when everybody is studying and with time running out,I still can find time to get myself motivated by writing this post. YES,I CAN !

Things Left To Do

So,other than visiting those places I mentioned in my previous entry there are also a few thing left to be done before graduating.

I want to win a gold medal,my last shot at it is about 2 weeks from now at inter-campus games.I don't know what are the chances as the team is still in a mess.

Clear all my resit papers.4 left, 2 this sem,2 next. This is what I MUST do in order to graduate.

Some say its about time for me to get a girl friend. and get laid A friend of mine told me that the best time to find your life partner is during college/uni. At first it sounded quite ridiculous to me. And then he explained to me why.

When you graduation from Uni,you will be around 24 years of age. After graduating, work for a few years and then you can marry your 'chat lou/pat lou' at your late 20's which is fine.

Now it started to make sense. It was during college when it happened for my lecturer friend. Congratulations to soon-to-be Mr and Mrs Chee

I'm not in a rush.

Places Left To Go

Looking at the semester calendar today I found out that I'm half way through the last,14-week semester in TARC and I also realized that I haven't been to a few places that I wanted to go. My days at PG TARC are numbered so I figured out a few places that I want to visit before I graduate next May.

-Go to Batu Feringgi beach.

I have been to Batu Feringgi a few times so far but its been years since I last been to the beach.I almost forgot about that place. The beaches in Tanjung Bungah are pretty much just-another-beach.Nothing much.
The famous Batu Feringgi beach is where I want to go.

-Bukit Genting'

People call it 'xiao yun ting'. From what I've heard the place is on a hill where you can have a nice view of Penang Island and also a place where you can have good food. Some described this place as Penang 'best kept secret'. I'm looking forward to it.
The pictures I saw on the internet of this place looks stunning. How can I not visit such place?

-MOIS

I'm not a 'kaki clubbing'. So why MOIS? I've been to CO and GLO.MOIS is probably the most popular club among TARCians now and I want to know how its like to be there.Believe me, I think 8 out of 10 TARCians have been to clubs before they graduate. There are plenty of regulars too.

-Other Places of Interest
Penang is where you can find sooooo many types of good food. There are still plenty of famous restaurants/hawker stalls that I have not visited.I'm missing out a lot of it.Any recommendations?

The Lucky Escape

18-10-2008 is the day many Penang TARCians face reality. To be honest with you, days like this never really caused me sleep-less nights, nightmares, wet dreams, tension and all that. Not that I'm confident of scoring As,but I worry more before the exam rather than after. What about you?

Any way, when it was time to witness my exam result of last semester,I was ready to face reality.Good or bad result.

The server was quite jammed as many students try to log in to check their results. My result? I passed all my main papers. It was better than I expected actually.Had I failed any of those,I would be in huge trouble this semester.

Thank god I made it,AND I HOPE YOU DID WELL TOO.

*update*

I just found out that the maximum subject that you can take at TARC (main+repeat+resit) is only 7 and not 8. Which means I just realized that I'm in deeeeeep shit.

Why I boycott Ordesey Night

First of all, just let me make it clear that our Ordesey Night IS NOT a prom night.

I was there last year and I know how is it like to be there. There are no tables which means they don't provide you any food or drinks. The chairs are arranged in such a way which looks exactly like a cinema. So off the stage, everything is hopelessly disappointing.

Trust me, it is NOT A NIGHT TO DIE FOR. You'll only get bored to death.

All the lights are focused on the stage, off the stage you seat your butt on a chair in the darkness which means you don't get to checkout the guys/girls sitting around you.

The show on stage is different every year. I heard that this year's shows are slightly better than last year. Last year's was not bad. Of course, there will be an award ceremony for the prom king and queen award. They also have Mr and Ms Photogenic.

The entry fee is only RM5 so we can't expect too much from the swc right? Let's be realistic. Why they can't charge about 30-40 bucks and make a proper prom night at a hotel? are they not authorised to do so?

I spoke to a SWC member about this and he said 'something happened when we had a prom night few years ago' and to make a prom night at a hotel is very 'mahuan'. Not a very convincing answer right?

I think they can make a proper prom night, they just wanted to stay in the comfort zone and do what they have managed to do in recent years. They don't want to try out something that will give them some challenge. And that is very disappointing.

Looking around at Penang, TAR probably the only college that doesnt have a prom night and because of that. It is a pity that Penang TARCians will never have a prom experience in their short 2 years college life.

No wonder so many tarcians ended up in clubs

Road To TARC -2

I am one year behind my friends of my age.In case some of you are still wondering how and why i am left behind, here's the answer. If you already knew what happened or not interested to know, skip the next 3 paragraphs.

I applied for TARC's Diploma in Multimedia Design last year (2006)which is only availble in KL's Main Campus.I was offered a place in the college but i decided not to go as Polytechnic's course fee is very much cheaper than TARC.Polytechnic's 1st intake is in July and i had to wait until mid-May 2006 to find out whether im offered a place or not.By the time i knew that my application was rejected it was too late to head back to TARC.

So i decided to wait for Polytechnic's following intake which is January this year.It was at that point when i started to work. After working in Megamall's camera shop (KY DIGITAL IMAGE) for some time i decided to switch my diploma course from Multimedia to Marketing and i applied for the Marketing diploma course as my 1st choice.I dont know what should be the 2nd so i just randomly selected Insurance.

By December 2006 i was again disappointed when my 1st choice was rejected but this time,my 2nd choice was offered.Diploma in Insurance for 3 years in Polytechnic??? It doesnt look right at all.By then i had not much options but to enrol to TARC.At one point i applied for TARC's January intake which is only offered in the main campus. But after i reconsider it,I finally came up with a decision to study in Penang's TARC in Tanjung Bungah. And the decision this time IS final.

What really brings me to TARC is its 'Quality and Affordable Education' which is written in the front page of last year's booklet. It is affordable but im not too sure about its quality.

This year's booklet doesnt look any better compared to last year's.The service provided by TARC's booth at the Education Fair Penang 2007 was quite terrible too.

They are lucky that i have already made up my mind to study in TARC.

Now,time to choose which course to study.I wasnt sure which course to take between Diploma in Market and Diploma in E-Commerce & Marketing. After thinking,asking,considering... i chose E-Commerce & Marketing. Why?

erm... The 2 babes in the booklet ... compared to

1 in this page. hmm... two beside me is better than one right?By the time i settle down in TARC maybe i'll end up like ...

Road To TARC -1

Its been almost a week since my last post. The past few days have been very tiring.Especially during the weekend which was really busy.

In about 2 months time i'll be starting my diploma course in Penang's TAR College and im going to take it as a once in a life time experience.

With my application form submitted before the 2006 SPM result came out there shouldnt be any problem with my application.

Some of my friends have started their course a year before me and i hope they can at least be a good senior and not drag me into their daily DOTA game or go clubbing at Chill Out.

Kevin(scorpheuz.blogspot.com) was nice enough to offer me a place to stay in his room temporarily until i find a place to stay for myself. The room is quite small and looks quite very much like a kampung house outside. But the good thing about his place is that i dont have to spare the same toilet with 10 people in the same house and i dont have to pay for the bills too! cool.I visited my cousin's house nearby the college and i noticed that even pee-ing when you want to is a problem.I hope i wont have that kind of problem when i live with Kevin and a PORN KING.Not Porm King you know, its PORN,KING OF PORNOGRAPHY.Hopefully my mind is not too poluted when im there.

TARC has the probably cheaper couse fee compared to other private colleges in all Malaysia.(RM7000 approx for a diploma course) I hope the quality of the education in TARC is up to standard and the graduates are sought after.

So,course fee is roughly Rm7000,plus the orientation fee, caution money, bla bla bla excluding food and other expenses like rental fees,it should be around... RM8000? That is after i get myself enrolled but there are plenty to spend even before enrolling.Got to buy a new bike, stationeries, clothes and maybe a new Hotlink/Digi prepaid card because im struggling to pay my bills. Most of my contacts use either Hotlink or Digi numbers although Penang is "Wilayah Celcom"

Penang is not very 'Celcom territory'. Dont have much Power In My Hands with my mobile phone number.
